Pj Harvey - PJ Harvey

BEST SONGS OF THE 2000s"This Mess We're In" (featuring Thom Yorke)from the album Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea2000iTunesOctober 2000:Though her critical reputation hasn't lost momentum, Polly Jean Harvey hasn't made an especially compelling album since 1995's gutsy, bluesy breakthrough, To Bring You My Love. A virtually forgotten collaboration with John Parish (Dance Hall At Louse Point) doesn't have to count, but 1998's Is This Desire? does: Tinged with electronics, it's forgettable bordering on dispiriting. The fact that it seems to follow a five-year hiatus makes her new Stories From...

My Chemical Romance - My Chemical Romance Confirm Return

American emo-rock megastars My Chemical Romance are set to return to their roots on their new album.

My Chemical Romance emerged from Chicago with some stadium filling riffs and plenty of teenage angst. The band's 2006 concept album 'The Black Parade' spawned an international following, turning the group into stars.

Touring the world, My Chemical Romance became adept at filling stadiums. Taking time off to record their new album, however, seems to have re-ignited the band's desire to re-capture their roots.

Speaking to the NME singer Gerard Way revealed that the emo rockers were keen to return to the smaller venues...

I talked to a few but they didn't seem like a good fit for me, but as soon as I met with The Offspring,...

Arctic Monkeys - Arctic Monkeys, London Wembley Arena

Posted 23rd Nov 2009 in Live Reviews, Arctic Monkeys by Greg Inglis | Wembley Arena |

If support act Eagles of Death Metal had taken even a cursory glance at the headliners' Wikipedia entry, then the chances are they would have accepted their opening billing at this gig with hesitancy after learning of the reception meted out to The Horrors when playing underneath Arctic Monkeys - they had cutlery and beer bottles thrown at them by disgruntled fans. The Eagles' fortunately brief set was more like Tuesday afternoon tea at your grandparents by comparison, musically competent but even...

Arctic Monkeys - Arctic Monkeys - Humbug (2009)

Getting straight to it, the Arctic Monkeys are decidedly undecided. Strong in mass appeal from having a stamped vocals, but the supporting cast just does not create a strong enough backing to provide an enjoyment when listening. ?"Dangerous Animals" has the only unique appeal inside the first three tracks. Usually music this bad comes with bad graphics for album artwork.

"Secret Door" however brings an upbeat, yet dark and drooly, organ and all. From there the following track "Potion Approaching", changes the ultimate sound of the artist. This song and the aforementioned track two, "Crying Lightning", reminds me a bit of...

Arctic Monkeys - Arctic Monkeys (Arctic Monkeys Tour Winter 2009)

The red curtain parted and through the smoke lurked five figures; statuesque to soak the acclaim before they solemnly delved into ‘Dance Little Liar'. Few bands could get away with such a brutally understated start but then there are few bands like Arctic Monkeys and few gigs as anticipated as their homecoming. Two and a half years is a long time for such a beloved group to evade Sheffield which would explain the lack of pleasantries as they skipped a proper hello and launched straight into ‘Brianstorm'. Accompanied by a cataracts curing lightshow, the barnstorming track also saw the unveiling...
