Leicester indie giants Kasabian have been added to the bill for the forthcoming T4 Stars Of 2009 show.

With Oasis out of action, many British bands are stepping forward to take their throne. As former touring partners with the Manchester giants Kasabian seem to be the obvious candidates to become the kings of debauched rock 'n' roll.

Releasing their new album 'West Ryder Pauper Asylum' earlier this year, Kasabian seemed to step up a gear. Loud and brasher than anything they had recorded before, it spawned the hit single 'Fire'.

When I first heard the raw neo-rock blast of Muse's Absolution I instantly fell in love with the record. When I heard the follow-up Black Holes and Revelations I was heartbroken. The album was an overwrought and overproduced self-indulgent prog rock wankfest.So I approached the UK trio's new album The Resistance with mixed feelings. Earlier this year, guitarist Brian Tatler of legendary NWOBHM band DIAMOND HEAD took part as a judge and mentor in an Irish documentary following a number of bands.

Scrap Metal was Ireland's first-ever "battle of the hard rock tribute band tour."
