‘Live Fast Die Old’ is an encouraging opener for Frank Turner’s new opus, Poetry of the Deed'. With a full band now established, the former Million Dead vocalist appears to have found his niche. However, as the excitement builds, so does the pacing of the album. Second track, ‘Try This At Home,’ appears slightly too hectic for its own good. Frank Turner is a superb lyricist, but this song offers little time to initially appreciate his expertise. As far as punk-folk music goes, this is actually a great effort; just rather unexpected.
The progression into ‘Dan’s Song’ provides an acoustic interlude...
