More than 200 family and friends of Slum Village rapper Baatin were gathered for his funeral early this afternoon (August 11) at Greater Future Missionary Baptist Church on Detroit's east side.One of the founding members of the critically revered Detroit hip-hop group Slum Village, Baatin was found dead in Detroit in the early hours of Aug. 1, the cause of death still undetermined.Those in attendance at the traditional Baptist service included several members of the music community, including the surviving members of Slum Village, T3 and Elzhi, who flew in this morning from California, where the group had shows.Baatin had...
