Roky Erickson, founder of 1960s psychedelic rock band 13th Floor Elevators, has announced a UK date.

The singer will play only his second ever London show at the HMV Forum on 20th August. Erickson previously performed at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the Meltdown Festival in 2007.

The Texas band split up in 1969, with Erickson battling mental illness before making a recovery in 2005. Fans of Erickson's work include Julian Cope, Mogwai, Primal Scream and Spaceman 3.
