Over 2,600 unsigned bands applied to be the acts who open this year's V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire, playing the first slot on the main stage over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd August.
This year's mentors were The Charlatans and Just Jack, who selected six finalists from the top ten who made it the semi-finals. The winners were chosen by the public, who picked Welsh rock band The Last Republic and pop punk band Underline The Sky from Ipswich.
