Marc Carroll paints a jangly acoustic ode which is being stuck in a lift with the Goo Goo Dolls, David Grey and Richard Ashcroft. Now on paper this might sound rather unappealing but in practice the coalescence is rather nice. 'Always� has character and it evokes a soundscape of country drives in convertibles with the wind blowing your face and the sun casting its rays down reminding you that it�s a beautiful day.

However this sensation is at odds with Carroll�s gloom-ridden lyrics; 'Its not a beautiful world it�s sad and lonely'. This nihilistic refrain gives the track an ironic depth...
