Bon Iver was borne of detachment and sickness in a remote Wisconsin cabin. Justin Vernon left his previous band DeYarmond Edison after ten years, he left his girlfriend and soon after fought a nasty bout of pneumonia. During a long winter in the cabin, Vernon had created 'For Emma, Forever Ago', his nine-track debut solo album.
