The new film, starring Sandler and Seth Rogen, debuted at #1 at this weekend's box office, pulling in $23.4 million.

"Funny People" debuted well below most of Sandler's comedies, which typically start with $30 million to $40 million opening weekends, according to the Associated Press. It pairs Sandler as the dying comic with Seth Rogen as his new assistant and joke writer.
