THE KINKS were once approached by notorious gangsters The Krays who told the band they wanted to manage them.

The 60s criminals Ronnie and Reggie asked the band if they could look after their affairs during their heyday.

According to Ray Davies, the twins even tried to set up a meeting to discuss the possibility but it never happened.

He said: "Our managers at the time were stockbroker types. They had a visit from someone in the Kray organisation saying they were interested in managing us.
