Athens, GA-based singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt (http://www.vicchesnutt.com/) will release At the Cut,his next studio project, on September 22. Chesnutt has collaboratedwith everyone from Michael Stipe to Lambchop to Bill Frisell andWidespread Panic over the years, so it is fitting that At the Cutis a collaboration with Fugazi’s Guy Picciotto and members of GodspeedYou!. The album was recorded by former Arcade Fire member HowardBilerman at Montreal’s Hotel2Tango studio and is said to focus on“themes of cowardice, courage, mortality, tenacity, defiance, mourningand memory.” Chestnutt recently completed a tour of New Zealand andAustralia with Victoria Williams.
