Grunge legends Pearl Jam are due to return with their new studio album 'Backspacer' on September 21st.

Pearl Jam were formed from the ashes of several Seattle groups. Singer Eddie Vedder was a veteran of the city's buoyant underground rock scene, and rapidly emerged as a gifted songwriter.

Releasing their debut album 'Ten' in 1991 the band became instant stars. The record was acclaimed as the work of a stunning new voice, catapulting Pearl Jam into the Billboard charts.
