After a crazy hour of conflicting stories, wild rumours, and intense spectulation, the BBC and CNN have now both changed their headlines to confirm that Michael Jackson has passed away. He was 50.

While, understandably, no official statement has been released by Jackson's family, close friends of the singer - among them Uri Geller and Paul Gambaccini - have already paid their tributes in interviews with the BBC's News 24 service.
