Justin Vernon of Bon Iver opens up about his new experimental side-project called Volcano Choir.

A quote from Vernon's record label, JagJaguWar, the band is an "assembly of Wisconsinites Jon Mueller, Chris Rosenau, Jim Schoenecker, Daniel Spack, Justin Vernon, and Thomas Wincek. You might find these old friends also frequenting records and stages under different monikers, Collections of Colonies of Bees and Bon Iver."

Vernon comments, "I sing on it, but there aren't a lot of lyrics. It's mostly choir stuff. It's definitely more on the experimental side of things. It's all really textural and landscape-y."
