Atmospheric metal icons Deftones have been forced to head back to the studio, after declaring themselves unhappy with their new album 'Eros'.

Deftones are one of America's most successful metal groups. Taking the gloomy atmospherics of the goth movement, Deftones injected a metal snarl that resulted in a uniquely oppressive form of music.

Nu metal trailblazers, the band's sound was always too complicated to be pigeon holed. 2000's break through album 'White Pony' may have spawned a legion of hoody wearing followers, but the band themselves never associated themselves with any 'scene'.
