Hugely influential American group R.E.M. are set to re-issue their second album 'Reckoning' later this year.
R.E.M. were a band out of time, and out of place. Formed in the post punk era, the band's chiming guitars and 60s harmonies were a world away from the screeching of No Wave era New York.
Little wonder though, as the group had grown up in Athens, Georgia and the mystery of the South runs through their best material. The band re-issued their debut album 'Murmur' last year, adding some bonus material including never before heard live cuts.
