The nominations for this year's Ivor Novello awards have been announced with Coldplay and Duffy sharing the plaudits.

Named in honour of the legendary songwriter, the Ivor Novellos have risen in prestige in recent years. Once regarded as being one of the less important ceremonies, the trophy now carries much more weight.

This year celebrates a very special batch of releases. British music enjoyed its most successful year in some time with acts such as Duffy, Coldplay, Radiohead and more enjoying massive global success.
