Ohio oddballs The Flaming Lips are set to take part in the upcoming Earth Day celebrations in Washington DC.
Earth Day is an annual event which is designed to raise awareness of environmental concerns. With some nations (*cough* United States) still to ratify the Kyoto accord on global warming, the upcoming events are perhaps more important than ever.
The Flaming Lips will perform at the event, headlining a bill that also features moe and Tex-Mex rockers Los Lobos. Wayne Coyne's troops are battle-hardened in preparation for their forthcoming US tour, and recently released their bizarre movie 'Christmas On Mars'.
