Wayne Shorter would be a jazz legend if he hadn't done anything more than play with Miles Davis from 1964-70. As a composer and saxophonist, Shorter contributed indelibly to one of the richest periods of Davis' career. Of course, then there was Weather Report â€" the great group that Shorter co-founded with Joe Zawinul â€" which took fusion to new levels throughout the '70s all the way into the mid-'80s.
