His latest accounts, published today, show that he earned a total of �48,499,893 between April 2006 and March 2008.

Much of the income comes from private gigs for the super-rich and does not include his income from songwriting and record sales.

In December 2006, 45-year-old Michael was paid �1,606,856 to sing 13 songs at a News Year�s Eve party thrown by Russian nickel magnate Vladimir Potanin.

Months later, the former Wham! star charged �1,521,916 for a gig on an island in the Indian Ocean for billionaire retailer Sir Philip Green�s 55th birthday party.
