Jeff Buckley (17 November 1966 - 29 May 1997) was the son of musicians Tim Buckley and Mary Guibert. Artists as diverse as dith Piaf, Nina Simone, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and Led Zeppelin influenced Buckley's music. His dynamically textured, perfectly pitched voice, personal, powerful lyrics, along with a varied and sonically rich instrumentation have made his 1994 debut album, Grace, a modern rock classic. Highlights include "Last Goodbye", "Lover, You Should've Come Over", and his supreme cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah".
