According to the Miami Herald, Nicko McBrain (IRON MAIDEN) and Derek Roddy (HATE ETERNAL, NILE, TODAY IS THE DAY) are among the "celebrity" drummers who took part in The Big Beat, a event held at nine North American locations on November 2 which aimed to set a Guinness world record and raise money for public school music programs.
The record is not confirmed by Guinness yet but likely will stand at nearly 3,000 for the largest number of drummers on full sets to play together at one time.
