Oxford Collapse used to write twitchy, spastic, pop-punk explosions. The band performed the songs loosely, as though some of the members were struggling to keep up with the others. It made for a fun ride. On Bits, the band has mellowed considerably and lost some of what made it stand out from its peers.

"A Wedding" would be almost unthinkable for the Oxford Collapse of old. It's just vocals and strings - no guitars, no drums, no speed. "B-Roll" is also a slow burner, replacing the strings with guitar and drums but not the kind of guitar and drums that propelled...
