Forgive this reviewer, having known the name but never really listened to Tindersticks prior to this single, finding Stuart Staples quavering baritone really quite funny, especially when he serenades someone called "Boobar".

Childishness aside though, 'Boobar, Come Back To Me' finds Tindersticks managing to execute a heart-wrenching ballad with enough skill that even reviewers who should know better find themselves swaying along, as the track builds a slowly around Staples' rich Hawley-esque voice and layers of Hammond organ and understated drumming to reveal a slow-burning epic.
