Review of Cartel - Chroma

Back in 2005, Cartel, led by Will Pugh released an album called Chroma. The first few seconds of the album are the sounds of an old scratchy vinyl record, not the most original thing in the world, but it's not overdone. The first song, Say Anything (Else), is the obvious hit of the album which shows off Pugh's vocals right away. That track, along with Honestly and Runaway were the singles on the album, they were played out as soon as the band gained fame, so personally, the other tracks are much better. Among the best, is Save Us. The piano used in that track is amazing along with the lyrics used. Another ballad of this new classic is The Minstrel's Prayer. It's breathtaking beats and lyrics make a great addition to this album. All in all, each song has a certain theme, which is then used in the final 9 minute song called A. You can listen to that one track and it sums up the whole album. This album is by far, one of the most beautifully done work I've ever seen.
