For their fifth album, The Walkmen change things up a bit by dropping their pop tendencies that got past songs like "The Rat" heavy airplay on alternative rock radio stations. In its place is a moodier, more low-key, vibe that still sounds like the Walkmen, but would probably align more closely with dour types like Leonard Cohen or Nick Cave than with their early 2000's New York rock peers.
