Because Im such a nice guy, and because, well, I just really enjoy Wait, You Can Rap?!?!, Im going to overlook Jelanis Kanye-proportioned cockiness as either (a) a tongue-in-cheek ruse to explain Waits theatrics or (b) a deliberate stab at the genres emphasis on being better instead of just good. I say this not to justify the albums disappointingly egocentric title (or Jelanis ties to underground rappers that feel the need to point out that theyre, you know, Saviors of Hip-Hop), but to explain what exactly makes the album tick. One noticeable attribute to Jelanis inherent, bigger-than-thou attitude...
