The second album from the Black Angels is a psychedelic 70 minutes of stretched out doom-laden, drone-smothered psychedelia: no track shorter than four and a half minutes and a 16-minute conclusion. The first album, Passover, channelled the drone and drawl of the Velvet Underground with the psychedelic sounds of the Thirteenth Floor Elevators and the Doors (all appropriate coming from a band living in a haunted house in Austin, Texas).
