One of the common arguments against the worth of ALESANA is that they find big ways to mess up a very solid core. After listening to their second album, Where Myth Fades To Legend, I find myself agreeing with that argument but perhaps not as much as I did when they released their debut album. The core of the band consists of three talented guitarists who have no problem switching between standard metalcore riffs and stuff that's more pop-rock (think CHIODOS).
