By now, you might think that the Raveonettes would've worn out their welcome. On paper, their shtick looks kind of insufferable: 50s-derived chord progressions, fuzz borrowed from the Jesus & Mary Chain and an image that suggested the Cramps without a sense of humor. When their mini album Whip It On appeared in 2002, it was enjoyable enough, but the band seemed destined to be vaguely remembered as a one trick pony. And yet! Six years after their debut, the Danish duo is sounding better than ever. How are they doing it? Beats me they haven't changed their shtick...
