Like last years scene favorite release, The Dear Hunters Act II: The Meaning Of, Lydias Illuminate holds a certain level of prestige among its target audience. It is, after all, a slightly different fad for the teenybopper bunch; though it plays like Copeland by way of Straylight Run, Illuminate ventures into big ideas and stays there. To their credit, Lydia display a greater control on their talent than the floundering that former The Receiving End of Sirens frontman Casey Crescenzo did with the loud, obnoxious Act II, and this makes Illuminate an impressive listen.
