It has been reported that guitarist Jim Jones passed away at his Cleveland home on the evening of Monday 18th February 2008. He was 57. Although perhaps most famous for playing in the reformed Pere Ubu, having been a member since 1987, he also played in numerous underground bands including Mirrors, The Electric Eels, The Styrenes, Foreign Bodies, Easter Monkeys, and Speaker/Cranker, playing both guitar and bass at various points. Jones had retired from touring with Ubu in 1996 following health problems. Exact details of his death are yet to be released.
