The Electric Prunes was a name. Period.So it shouldn't concern listeners that none of the original members that made up the original Prunes were involved with Release of An Oath; a religious concept album first released in November, 1968 and just re-released by Collectors' Choice Music. That's an interesting point made by David Axelrod in the liner notes of the re-released CD. Axelrod, a composer and arranger who was a mastermind behind this album, went on to say that the name Electric Prunes was owned by a manager named Lenny Poncher, who basically conceived of and formulated this work.That explains...
