Mobb Deep rapperProdigy got a break in Manhattan Supreme Court Tuesday (Jan 8) when a judge postponed his sentencing to give doctors time to gather medical records documenting his sickle cell anemia. Prodigy, whose real name is Albert Johnson, 33, was supposed to begin a 3-1/2-year sentence in state prison for carrying a loaded, unregistered .22-caliber gun in his $150,000 bulletproof SUV in 2006. But Supreme Court Justice Edward McLaughlin decided the rapper's doctors should get five weeks to produce records documenting his life-long illness.
