A competent but largely uninspired solo outing for Strokes guitarist/sideman Albert Hammond Jr., this piece makes for decent alt-rock background listening, but that's the problem. In a word, the material - the inspirations of which Hammond wears on his sleeve - is boring. There's nothing particularly wrong with the album, save perhaps for the clumsy throwaway "Holiday" (which contains the groan-worthy couplet "Jamaica/Ooh, Im gonna take ya away/On holiday") and the unnecessary cover of Guided By Voices' "Postal Blowfish" that, with Hammond's sleepy, processed vocals, sounds like he literally phoned it in.
