After having missed MINUS THE BEAR live way too many times to count, I was psyched to finally see them on the first night of a two night stand at my favorite venue in the Boston-area, the Middle East Downstairs. The boys from Seattle hit the venue on their Planet of Ice tour in support of their latest album of the same name. Ela, straight from Minneapolis, started off the night with power-pop songs to, sadly, an unenthusiastic crowd. I got a definite Midwest vibe from them and heard a little bit of GET UP KIDS influence in the bands...
