THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN's Ire Works has three distinct levels of songs. First, as one might expect, are the typical songs with the frantic time changes, the ear-destroying screaming, and the tear-at-your-insides fretwork. A majority of the songs do follow this formula, including the opening duo of "Fix Your Face" and "Lurch." These two tunes begin things much like "Panasonic Youth" and "Sunshine The Werewolf" did on Miss Machine: absolutely enthralling and right up in your face.
