The Pavement-y Leaps is one of the most direct songs that the Broken blokes have written. Its straightforwardly poppy, a happy missionary-position endorsement of shagging in the afternoon, with Mick Roman providing the bulging blue vein of a beat. But Hold On To Your Love contorts them into much more adventurous positions. The structure is pretty simple: theres the title, repeated as a kind of mantra, while a Bonham-esque rhythm punches through dense and dark layers of guitars. Its Led Zeppelin remixed by Animal of the Muppets with Aphex Twin supervising. Its intimidatingly good....
