Goes without saying that the Bunnymen hold a special place in our affections. Without doubt up to and around 1984 they were the dogs bollocks - fact. Four albums under their belts at that point had culminated in the adventurous and daring Ocean Rain set - swept in strings and a sense of chamber majesty meets dark cabaret, the Bunnymen married sophisticated grandeur with rock while simultaneously absorbing the Doors, Brecht and Cohen into their sonic fabric. It was in essence a widescreen realisation of a vision that had begun to take shape within the suffocating dark heaven up here...
