Jay-Z News: Jay-Z and Will Smith to Remake “Annie”

Filmdrunk is reporting that legendary rapper Jay-Z and megastar Will Smith are teaming up to bring a modernized version of the classic hit Annie to the silver screen.

Two things standout: First of all, if Jay-Z is involved, there’s a damn good chance the music in this updated version will be hip-hop oriented. This theory also fits hand in hand with the fact Jay-Z has previously sampled a song from Annie, “Hard Knock Life”, on one of his albums.

Second, the film is apparently going to star Smith’s daughter, Willow, as the leading lady, and given the fact she already has...
