The Courtyard Hounds are basically The Dixie Chicks minus lead singer Natalie Maines. As the story goes, The Dixie Chicks went “on hiatus” in 2008, but come 2009 sisters Martie Maguire and Emily Robison started to get the itch to get back into the studio. Unfortunately for the Chicks, Natalie wasn’t really feeling it and thusly (“thusly”…you can tell I’ve been watching a lot of Alton Brown) The Courtyard Hounds were born.
