Your foot taps, your head bobs, your heart warms. All the ingredients for a mediocre, palatable pop rock tune from New York’s Alberta Cross. You can’t really fault ‘Taking Control’ for it’s reverb laden pancake sweetness. It wins you over within seconds of listening and does exactly what it’s titled - by taking control of your little wing mirrors and giving them a massage. Oddly enough the riff and general atmosphere smells like Smashing Pumpkins -‘1979’ in it’s laid back headphone fuzz.
