A recently discovered species of extinct bird has been named, believe it or not, after long-running alt-country outfit Lucero. The bird, which lived in the late Cretaceous period between 71 and 75 million years ago, has been given the scientific name Hollanda luceria, after the Holland family who provided funds for the research and after the band, who presumably provided nothing more than some positive memories to whoever was in charge of naming the thing.The species has been described as similar to the modern-day Southern Screamer, and it's said that it "was most likely a ground-foraging bird like...
