Solaris is the second album from classically trained York quintet Elliot Minor and successfully channels their Trivium-like passion for riotous guitar solos, grandiose Muse echoing string arrangements and vacuum packed sing-along choruses. When they actually manage to combine these elements effectively then we get the wonderful fists aloft anthemics of highlight 'Electric High',but the likes of 'Discover' and 'I Believe' are average songs hiding beneath glossy string drenched production. 'Shiver' also suffers from missing gear syndrome until a guitar and piano solo appear...
